Reinforcing Cooperation! Walailak University Hosts WU Coop Day 2024, Recognizing Businesses and Offering Information for Students



On 6 March 2024, the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development, Walailak University (WU), organized WU Coop Day 2024 under the theme "Cooperative Education at Walailak: Bridging to Success" to honor partner businesses and promote cooperation, and collaborate with quality business partners to provide information for students. 

The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University. Also in attendance were Assistant Professor Dr. Padungsak Suksa-Ard, Vice President, along with Dr. Attanan Tachopisalwong, Director of Cooperative Education and Career Development as well as business executives, students, and faculty members, totaling more than 1,500 participants, at the Thai Buri Building.
                                                                                                   

Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong said Walailak University is committed to developing students into quality graduates capable of practical work upon graduation, referred to as graduates who possess Academic Excellence with Professional Skills. Cooperative education is considered a vital mission, and all students are required to participate. Currently, the university has extended the duration of cooperative education from the previous four months to eight months to ensure that partner businesses benefit in terms of work, knowledge creation, and collaborative research. Importantly, students and faculty have the opportunity to learn together with companies and businesses, preparing for future work.

"I would like to express my gratitude to all business executives who recognize the importance and collaborate to support the production of quality graduates through the cooperative education process. This event, WU Coop Day, reaffirms the strong cooperation between the university and businesses and contributes to producing competitive professionals capable of competing internationally," said Professor Dr. Sombat.

Assistant Professor Dr. Padungsak Suksa-Ard added, "The goal of organizing WU Coop Day is to honor and promote stakeholders involved in the development of cooperative education at Walailak University. It fosters cooperation between quality businesses and the university, providing an opportunity for Walailak University students to interact and exchange information with reputable businesses."

During the event, awards were presented to outstanding cooperative education businesses for the year 2024, with three organizations receiving the WU Coop. Best Partnership award for their continuous support of the cooperative education process. Additionally, several businesses set up booths to provide information and recruit students for internships.
