Three Walailak University researchers featured among World’s Top 2 % Scientists Ranking by Stanford University

Three Walailak University researchers received global recognition as the World’s top 2 Percent scientists 2021. They are among 2 percent over a total of over 100,000 global scholars whose publications exhibit a profound impact and exert a strong influence in their specific fields of over 22 disciplines divided into 176 sub-disciplines.

            Walailak University congratulates three researchers: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manat Chaijan from School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, Assoc. Prof. Veeranoot Nissapatorn, MD, from School of Allied Health Sciences, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuttawit Wattanasakulpong from School of Engineering and Technology. As known in academia, Professor John P. A. Loannidis’s World’s Top 2 % scientist list is subjected to a rigorous process of analysis based on citations from in the Scopus database for career-long citation impact and citation impact during a single calendar year. The database provides publically comprehensive information on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator.

              Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manat Chaijan ranked the 884th among 58,351 researchers in the field of food science said, “being a researcher is not only about passion but also perseverance. Encountering obstacles is common and you will face them every step of the way. Instead of seeing it as a problem. You should welcome it as a challenge since every obstacle always presents a unique opportunity for self-development.” The professor also emphasized the importance of a solid body of knowledge derived from basic research serving as a stepping stone for academic breakthroughs in any disciplines.

             In a similar vein, Assoc. Prof. Veeranoot Nissapatorn ranked the 530th among 33,142 researchers in the field of tropical medicine emphasized the significance of knowing your passion. She said, “Build yourself up. It is imperative that we know what we are passionate about. That is where it all begins. Then, you gradually enrich it by reading and seeking advice which will broaden your knowledge horizon. At the end, you share it with others. Please also put on a hat of a life-long learner.”

            Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuttawit Wattanasakulpong added, “a good writing always speaks for itself. Believe it or not, it has a soul and it communicates with readers.
