Center for International Affairs Organizes 1st International Student Orientation Program for the academic year 2023 under the theme "Happy Learning and Life Balance"



Yesterday, 23 August 2023, Walailak Center for International Affairs (CIA) organized the 1st International Student Orientation Program for the academic year 2023. This official orientation program is conducted once per semester on Wednesday of the 2nd week of the term in accordance with the university's academic calendar.

Themed "Happy Learning and Life Balance," the orientation program provided valuable information to international students. The CIA focused on various aspects, including visa matters, 27-hour reporting, 90-day reporting, visa extension, visa type conversion, and health insurance – all of which are crucial and essential for international students. 

The orientation also highlighted Thai culture and provided insights into Thai customs and manners. The international students also got the opportunity to explore Nakhon Si Thammarat city, visit important landmarks such as Nakhon Si Thammarat City Pillar Shrine, Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan (the main Buddhist temple of Nakhon Si Thammarat), and Central Plaza Nakhon Si Thammarat shopping mall. 

The orientation had a total of 37 participants (25 females and 12 males) from 12 countries: Russia (11), Myanmar (5), Kazakhstan (3), Germany (1), Thailand (8), China (2), Ukraine (1), Vietnam (2), Afghanistan (1), Ethiopia (1), Pakistan (1), and the United Kingdom (1). For the Thai students participating, they are studying Business Administration at the international college (WUIC).

At present, Walailak University is home to 173 full-time international students from 25 countries. And the orientation will continue as another group of approximately 108 students from China will be participating soon.
