Walailak University Welcomes Delegates from Universiti Malaysia Perlis


Delegates from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP), attended the International Mobility Program, co-organized by Walailak University’s School of Engineering and Technology and the Center for International Affairs, on 16 December 2022 at Walailak University.

 
     Walailak University has a five-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) with UNIMAP from 2018 - 2023. This international mobility program aimed to offer academics and students the opportunity to look into new knowledge and experiences in the fields of Geopolymer and Construction Materials, Petrochemical and Polymer, Chemical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
 
     On this occasion, Professor Dr. Wanna Choorit, WU’S Vice President, presided at the welcoming session at Chopradu Chamber, WU hospital, and briefed the delegates about Walailak University’s overview including WU’s excellent centers whose main priority is to promote high-quality research of the university. 
 
     “I would like to welcome the Dean and lecturers of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Perlis, to Walailak University. This is a great opportunity to exchange and discuss jointly increasing knowledge and skills in developing good research,” said Professor Dr. Wanna
 
      Assistant Professor Dr. Monthian Setkit, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, WU, said: “the School of Engineering and Technology is committed to strengthening the society, the nation, and the world by providing competent graduates, and conducting high-quality research and academic service". And now the school is taking the cooperation to the next level, creating more tangible outcomes.

     Prof. Dr. Mohd Mustafa Al Bakri Abdullah, Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology, UNIMAP, said: “It is an honor to be here at Walailak University. This cooperation started a long time ago. And next year, we can expect to have 40 joint publications in Q1 and Q2”.

     This program is believed to promote future collaborations between the two universities in many areas such as joint publications, academic mobility, student industrial training, joint postgraduate supervision, joint master's degree and dual degree, international matching research fund, and many more.
