Walailak University Succeeds in Advancing International Faculties as Announced by the QS Asia University Rankings 2023 

The QS Asia University Rankings 2023 has just released its results placing Walailak University at 551st – 600th among 760 top universities in Asia, at 88th in South-Eastern Asia. The announcement came out on 8 November 2022 at 5 PM Thailand’s local time. 

   Among all the 11 indicators expanding over three principal areas of university's achievement including academic achievement, research publication and international community development, Walailak University performs outstandingly in International Faculty criteria at 215th in QS Asia University Rankings. 

    The QS Asia University Rankings 2023 was constructed using 11 indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, international research network, citations per paper, papers per faculty, staff with a PhD, proportion of international faculty and students, and proportion of inbound and outbound exchange students.

    Walailak University, as the University of Quality, under leadership of Prof. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, has been significantly advancing over 5 years in teaching excellence, research, student care and internationalization. As for teaching, we are staffed by 565 lecturers certified by the Advance Higher Education based on the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF), 1st in Thailand and 3rd Globally. As a Global and Frontier Research University, grouped by Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Walailak University’s high-impact publications in Q1 and Q2 journals have improved from 72 in 2017 to 433 in 2022. Walailak University’s publications in the Scopus database have reached 81.8 %, 3rd in Thailand.
