PAK PHANANG, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 7–9 August 2026 — Walailak University, led by the School of Medicine, the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, and the Division of Finance and Accounting, in collaboration with representatives from local communities, organized the exhibition “Pak Phanang Indigenous Rice and Lotus” as part of the event “Royal Grace Flows Through the Pak Phanang River Basin, Bringing Peace and Prosperity.”

The event was organized by the Pak Phanang River Basin Development Coordination and Administration Center. The exhibition showcased research conducted under the Pak Phanang River Basin Development Project under Royal Initiative and the Royal Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Royal Initiation of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn (RSPG).

The exhibition aimed to showcase the achievements and outcomes of research on indigenous rice and lotus varieties in the Pak Phanang area, while providing a platform for researchers and local communities to exchange knowledge, experiences, and insights. It also featured and promoted products developed through research projects, creating opportunities to connect research with local communities and support the development and commercialization of local agricultural products.

Through this collaboration, Walailak University continues to contribute its research and academic expertise to the sustainable development of the Pak Phanang River Basin, while supporting the conservation of local genetic resources, strengthening community participation, and promoting the value of indigenous agricultural knowledge and products.
