THASALA, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 26 January 2024 – Walailak University’s Center for Academic Services, as the coordinating center of the southern region of YSC, organized the 26th Young Scientist Competition: YSC 2024 in the project presentation round of the southern region at the Architecture & Design Building, Walailak University. The competition was implemented under the collaboration of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and Walailak University, serving as a stage for secondary school students to show their potential in science, technology, and innovation.

Students across the southern region of Thailand from more than 17 schools participated in the event, with 44 projects presented. In this round, the students who were project developers presented their projects to the committee members from Walailak University and the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), who were experts in each field of the projects. In the grant provision ceremony, all 44 project developers were given a grant of 3,000 baht. The winners in the regional round were given 9,000 baht as an additional grant with certificates and will serve as the representatives of the southern region in the national-level competition.
