CAS and Partners Conducting CSR Activities as Part of the 30th Marine Ecology Course

MUEANG, PHUKET, 9 December 2023 – Walailak University, led by the Center for Academic Services, partnered with Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., and the Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center (Upper Andaman Sea) to implement CSR activities between December 3 and 10, 2023, consisting of beach clean-up events and releasing turtles with more than 20 participants. The CSR activities were organized as part of the 30th Marine Ecology Course in Phuket to promote learning about marine ecology in terms of structure and symbiotic relationships in the marine ecosystem. The activities were expected to enhance the potential of research and scientific processes among the participants.

The turtle-releasing event was organized in cooperation with the Sireetarn Marine Endangered Animals Rescue Center. The center is a division of the Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center (Upper Andaman Sea), which is responsible for rescuing injured, endangered, and sick marine mammals, blood analysis, tissue diagnostics, radiation, and necropsy. It has been operating since 2019. More importantly, these momentous activities were organized to contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 14: Life below Water.
