Walailak University (WU) partners with RheinMain University of Applied Sciences (HSRM) in development of double master's degree agreement

Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University had been invited by Professor Dr. Eva Waller, President of RheinMain University of Applied Sciences to visit HSRM University in Wiesbaden, Germany. Accompanied with President Sombat were 1) Asst. Prof. Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Director of Center for International Affairs, 2) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siwarit Pongsakornrungsilp, Dean of the School of Management, 3) Dr. Neeranat Kaewprasert Rakangthong, Director of the Center for Academic Services and lecturer of the School of Accountancy and Finance, 4) Asst. Prof. Dr. Siriwatchana Kaeophanuek, Head of Digital Content and Media Program, Informatics and 5) Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaowanan Khundam Head of Multimedia and Animation Technology Program, School of Informatics. The WU visiting group arrived at Wiesbaden on September 4th and was warmly welcomed by President Eva Waller and her colleagues. The reason for the visit is to expand cooperation in the Faculty of Design Informatik Medien that have been working together on the project Global Design & Media CoSpace in the bachelor's degree program Media: Conception & Production for a year. Then the collaboration has been expanded to include the development of a double master’s degree program in Business initially proposed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piboon Puriveth, Dean of Walailak University International School. In the future, WU students will be able to either take courses in Germany or Thailand and earn a master’s degree from both HSRM and WU. During the visit to HSRM, the leaders of the two institutions signed the agreement and then visited the Unter den Eichen Campus and the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring Campus. Further to the agreement, WU plans to expand collaboration e.g. international short course programs, dual degree, staff and student mobility to WU Schools of Management, Informatics, and Accountancy and Finance.
