Walailak University's Thai Cultural Trip for International Students

On March 19, 2023, Walailak University's Center for International Affairs organized a Thai Cultural Trip for international students in Bang Bai Mai District, Surat Thani Province. Over 53 Thai and International students from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), Russia, and the University of San Carlos, Philippines, participated in the trip.

The Center for International Affairs arranged various activities for the students to learn about traditional Thai culture, allowing them to immerse themselves in Thai culture and traditions. The students were thrilled to get their hands dirty and create Mah Tak Nam, a water dipper/bowl made from Nipa Palm leaves. They also learned about the way of life of Thai people and the art of basketwork made from coconut leaves, one of the local wisdoms of Southern Thailand.

Additionally, the students had the opportunity to sail on a boat along the Tapi River, taking in the stunning scenery of Ban Song's riverside community and witnessing a cave made from Nipa Palm.

In the afternoon, they visited Suan Lung Song, to a coconut product learning center, in the Bang Bai Mai district, Surat Thani Province, and finally visited Khao Phlai Dam Beach in Nakhon Si Thammrat, where they had the opportunity to connect and exchange knowledge with each other.
