Walailak University to Host Hybrid Walailak Research Convention 2023 on Higher Education in the Disruptive Era

                                                                         
Walailak University is preparing to host the upcoming Walailak Research Convention 2023, which will take place from March 28 to 29. This hybrid research convention will be held at the Pattarathammaporn Chamber, 9th Floor, Walailak University Hospital, and online, making it accessible to participants from around the world. 

This year's theme, "Higher Education in the Disruptive Era," offers participants an opportunity to engage in discussions about research trends and the latest interesting technologies.

The opening ceremony will feature a talk on "Talent Mobility in the Disruptive World" by Dr. Kitipong Promwong, President of the National Higher Education, Science Research and Innovation Policy Council, Thailand, and a keynote speech on "The Roles of University Educators in the Disruptive Era" by Professor Marie Dian-Thompson, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Education, James Cook University, Australia.

The panel discussion on "Higher Education in the Disruptive Era" will feature distinguished experts: Prof. Yuen, Peter Pok-man from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong; Prof. Lance Chun Che Fung from Murdoch University, Australia; and Prof. Dr. Wu-Yuin Hwang from National Central Univeristy, Taiwan.

Walailak Research Convention 2023 will also include a ceremony honoring the Golden Chulabhorn (Jor Por) Award Recipients, who are researchers that have made significant contributions to Walailak University. Additionally, parallel sessions covering a wide range of interesting topics including Computational Sciences, Smart Education, Cannabis and Kratom for Medical Purpose, Essential Oil and Bioactive/ Nutraceutical Compounds in Food, Nora and Intangible Cultural Heritage in Southeast Asia, Emerging Trends in Functional Food Ingredients; Sustainability, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics; Purification and Separation of Value-added Chemical, Digital Health and Emerging Crisis in Public Health, and Health and Education in New Normal Era will take place.

Professor Dr. Wanna Choorit, Vice President of Walailak University, said that as society changes due to declining birth rates and the impact of technological advancements, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), "it is important for individuals to be aware of these issues so they can adapt and adjust. The university also needs to be mindful and ensure that students are equipped with the necessary skills to grow and excel in their future careers.

Walailak Research Convention is expected to draw a large crowd of researchers, experts, lecturers, students, and members of the public from all over the world who are interested in higher education, cutting-edge research, and the latest technologies.
