   Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, by Royal Command of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, conferred degrees to graduates of Walailak University of Academic Year 2020 and Academic Year 2021 on September 25th,2022 at 1:53 p.m., at the main auditorium, Thaiburi building, Walailak University. Chairperson of Walailak University Council, President of Walailak University, the administrator team, and the public attending to receive Her Royal Highness. 


    Walailak University, this year,  congratulates on the success of 1 scholar being granted an honorary degree in medicine, 20 Ph.D. students, 63 Master’s degree students, and 2,611 undergraduate students from different schools, 57 of whom will be receiving degrees with honors, 5 being awarded Walailak Suek Sit Plaque (Student Honorary Award) for performing services for the community, 5 being granted the honorary pin and Kittikarn Plaque, 3 lecturers being granted the Gold CB Award (Jor Por) and 9 lecturers being granted Honor Pin for achieving the Outstanding performance. 


    Driven by the proactive policies to become World Class University, Walailak University under the leadership of Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, has remarkably progressed in teaching and learning as well as research to the degree that the university has entered global higher education ranking 601-800 by Time Higher Education Impact Ranking 2021 for the first time, and ranked 15th nationally. By the Nature Index Ranking 2021, Walailak University positions itself as Thailand’s 3rd leading university in physical sciences, 8th in Chemistry, and 4th overall. As for the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2021, Walailak University ranks 1st globally in humanities and social sciences, 4th in innovation development, and 11th overall. Furthermore, the university has been implementing the Green University policy and placed 1st in the south. 


    On this occasion, Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, gave royal guidance capitalizing on the value of perseverance, “to all the graduates, you have embarked on this educational journey and successfully achieved what you set out for. We believe that each of you will be applying the knowledge and capabilities you have acquired in a professional setting to build your name and your life and contribute to your country’s progressive future so that we as a nation will advance in compliance with the world’s evolvement. To achieve these worthy goals, graduates will not settle but be constantly eager for self-development to become both good and able.

    Because after all, truly Able individuals are those who emerge as an integrator of knowledge taking all factors into account, namely tasks, situations, environments, as well as culture and society, to the degree in which success in work is yielded. Likewise, truly Good individuals are those knowing to distinguish between the rights and the wrongs, the virtues and the non-virtues, follow the right paths, and refrain from inflicting harm on others with the knowledge acquired. With the willpower to be both good and able graduates prioritizing benefits of the common goods over one’s own, each of you will prosper in a career path with stability and prosperity and abilities to contribute to one’s living and the nation.”
