Walailak University holding the community relation event , “30 years of Walailak University, the University of Quality”

     On August 30th, 2022, the Division of Corporate Communication, Walailak University, in collaboration with Nakhon Si Thammarat province, held a community relation event for all public and private sectors, heads of government agencies to meet and present progress in performances and seek approaches to sustaining and advancing the province’s development plans. In addition, Walailak University, celebrating the 30 years of the university foundation, University of quality”. On this occasion, heads of Nakhon Si Thammarat’s government agencies, administrators of the public and private sectors as well as local government agencies, Village Health Volunteers, Thasala Municipality Elderly Club, Walailak University administrators, the press and students from School of Political Science and Public Administration, Walailak University, totaling 700 attendees. 


     Mr. Kraisorn Wisitwong, Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, gave a special lecture on “Nakhon Si Thammarat: City of Civilization, Quality Living, Tourism, Agriculture and Sustainable Industry” and the vision of Nakhon Si Thammarat’s development. The idea of soft power has been placed at the center of the province’s development leading to concrete achievements. Further progress is directed toward five dimensions including 1) Planet: natural resource and environment 2) People: society and livelihood of the people 3) Prosperity: economy and wealth and 4) Peace and 5) partnership: development networks.

 


     Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, acting president of Walailak University, gave a special lecture on the topic “the 30 years of the university foundation, University of quality”. President Sombat presented the university’s commitment to educating and producing quality graduates to serve the community on a broad scale. Prof. Dr. Sombat also emphasized the academic staff’s academic publications generating impact on national and international development. 


     In addition, there was a show from students from WU Performing Art Club. Joining the event were also the communities surrounding Walailak University, village health volunteers from Thasala Hospital, and members of the Thasala Municipality Elderly Club, Nakhon Si Thammarat.
