Walailak University Taking Cooperative Education to Another level Wins 3 National Awards


      Walailak University proved its success in managing the 12th Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education contest (CWIE) 2022.This achievement testifies to the university’s adjustment to an 8-month internship program having proved to increase graduates’ employment. 


       Asst. Prof. Dr. Padungsak Suksa-Ard, Acting Vice president, as the supervisor of Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development, Walailak University together with the WU Coop team attended the award ceremony presentation ceremony in Chon Buree on 24 May 2022. Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development won three awards including Excellence Award for Cooperative Education Innovation and Excellent Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE). As for the students, Mr. Tanva Thongkleang, student from Computational Science, School of Sciences, won Excellence Award for Cooperative Education Innovation project.  Anantara Phuket Hotel Chain won Excellence Award for Large-scale Organization for Cooperative Education as proposed by Walailak University.


      Asst. Prof. Dr. Padungsak said that the 8-month long program has generalized the practice of Cooperative and Work Integrated Education (CWIE) in every of the university’s curriculums. This to equip graduates with merits as a guided by the policy of Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) to move forward with the CWIE Platform. Likewise, the organizations benefit in terms of business operations as well as co-establishment of knowledge bases and academic studies. More importantly, students gained authentic experiences from real practices which help to get them prepared for employment. 


     “Walailak University is enhancing its progress in all aspects, whether it is about the development of students and faculties, or adjustment of the curriculum to comply with the cooperative study program. We place much importance on forging cooperation with organizations to orient every step of the process toward putting students’ academic and professional skills in line with today’s market demands. Winning these three major awards have proved the strength of our cooperative education system,” said Asst. Prof. Dr. Padungsak.
