Communication Arts students, Walailak University, took third place in a nationwide public relations strategy competition.

Mr. Weerapon Khananpao, Ms. Supanida Patiya, and Ms. Pitchnaree Monjeng of the Walailak University’s Communication Arts Program fourth-year students, with Dr. Attanan Tachopisalwong as their advisor, finished second runner-up in the public relations plan contest in the Toyota Campus Challenge 2020 by Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd.  They were each awarded certificates and received a 50,000 baht scholarship plus 10,000 baht for support budget to the advisor.

Mr. Weerapon Khannapao, the head of the RA TREE PLOD PHAI, revealed that his motivation for participating in the Toyota Campus Challenge 2020 sprang from a public relations planning course he and his colleagues were taking at the time. As a result, he was eager to present the challenge with a public relations approach. Fortunately, his team was able to advance to be one of the final 10 teams from 706 teams. The Toyota Motor Corporation then allocated a budget of 21,000 baht to implement the project "Post Share Like Live #RODTAINAIYAMRATREE’’, which consisted of four activities: 1) Experienced Night Rider, 2) 10 risks of accidents in Walailak University, 3)10 ways to drive at night, and 4) The live broadcast explaining activities 1-3. Finally, an activity evaluated knowledge by combining questions from activities 1-3 into the live broadcast to assess knowledge and provide awards to participants.

"We are ecstatic and grateful because this project has taught us so much, such as patience and time management. Although the team members had a lot on their plates at the time, including the 4th year project and cooperative education, we were able to work together. None of the team members saw them as an obstacle to their work; rather, they saw them as benefits that would aid the team's success. Finally, we would like to thank our adviser and everyone else who helped our team win the second runner-up prize," stated the leader of the RA TREE PLOD PHAI.
