On 20 December 2013, the International Relations Office welcomed 30 students led by Encik Fahmi Azar B. Mistar, Head of Student Affairs from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aswin Promsopa, Assistant to the President for International Relations gave the students a warm welcome. The group visited Walailak University and Prateepsart Primary School for community service activity under the cooperation of Ajarn Abdulroya Panaemalae, Cooperator of Regional Studies Program, School of Liberal Arts. The activities comprise of cleaning and painting on the wall of the school, teaching Bahasa Melayu to students in the community, participation in the sport competition for strengthen relationship among UPM students and community, and cultural exchange. The group had a chance to join home-stay with Muslim families in the community and learn ways of life of Muslim families in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
